Is there anything that can be done about bags around my eyes?

Dr. Gregory Bland - Colorado Springs Plastic Surgery

Our eyes say a lot about us. Filled with emotion, our eyes are often a look into our soul. If you’re considering cosmetic eye surgery, there are some things you should consider.

The most common signs of aging appearing in the upper eyelids are loose skin and excess “Fat Pockets,” resulting in a sad or tired appearance.

At the Center for Plastic Surgery, we perform a procedure called Upper Blepharoplasty (the medical term used to describe upper eyelid surgery). In this procedure, excess skin and fat are removed via an incision in the natural crease. At the same time, muscles resulting in frown lines between the brows can also be modified to diminish the lines.

Operative Time:  45 min. to 1 hour

Anesthesia:  Usually local with IV sedation. General optional.

Risks:  Although rare, dry eye syndrome or the inability to completely close the lids has been reported.

Recovery:  Generally 7-10 days acceptable appearance at social distance.

About the Center for Plastic Surgery: Dr. Bland holds two Doctorate degrees – a Doctorate in Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) and Doctorate in Medicine (M.D.) from the prestigious University of California at San Francisco (UCSF).  A prominent Colorado Springs Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Bland is  member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons as well as the prestigious American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
